Precision Monitoring to Protect Neighbouring Properties
KWC has been engaged to carry out a monitoring survey for a development site where neighbouring buildings are positioned very close to the boundary. With new retaining walls being constructed along these boundaries, Auckland Council has required ongoing monitoring throughout the construction phase to ensure any potential ground movement is detected early and managed responsibly.
Our team has installed reflective targets on neighbouring building walls and placed monitoring pins near the boundary to capture precise positional data. Using a high-precision total station with local site control, we are achieving millimetre-level accuracy to monitor even the smallest shifts. The movement threshold of 15 mm has been set by the geotechnical engineer, requiring us to closely monitor and alert the project team if movement exceeds this limit.
At KWC, we take pride in supporting safe and compliant construction practices through accurate surveying and consistent monitoring.
